It’s an analogy. A marshmallow based philosophy.

Peeps and Smores both have an approach to marshmallows.

One is a sugar coated carbon copy with nervous watchy eyes. The other is difficult to duplicate, subject to ingredients, the elements, taste, preference. It duplicates to renew. One is sweet, too sweet. Too bright. Faux. The other, messy, melty, sometimes toasted to intended, sometimes, burnt to a crisp. Sometimes burnt to your liking.

As far as analogies go, our marshmallows have the capability of being either or both. It’s up to us to keep it pointed toward the fire. Toward the current that makes you authentic and alive and funny and creative and caring. Toward what gives you joy and generates fruit. What makes us pull away from the flame is namely fear and pain. Since none of us are immune from those we can all be guilty of the sugar coat faux, but it’s the desire for the fire that makes all the difference.

I don’t always eat marshmallows, but when I do, I make it a s’more. Stay toasty my friends.
